The Swamp- Week 1- So it Begins

Here it is guys. The full coloured version of my illustration for So it begins...

I used grey markers to do the tones and did a quick colour layer on photoshop just to try the new technique after a few technical difficulties.

I tried to give it an old school pulp novel feel so I tried to give it a painty finish and used off colours. The text was just the finishing touch :)

Week 1 - So it begins - Mermaid

Yay no horse's head for me!!

Here is my drawing for the week. 
I've been wanting to draw a mermaid for a while now.
I wanted her pretty and slightly creepy at the same time.

I havent come up with an awesome title for this. But here it is =)

Week 1 - So it begins - Time to jump

Here's my submission, it changed so much, it looked nothing like the original idea. Anyhew, the initial idea was that there would be a paratrooper about to jump into a battlefield, this would fit the title 'So it begins'. But that didn't happen! I could have taken this further but quite frankly, I'm lazy!

Murder by moonlight

Due to the lack of a scanner I only have a camera pic of it. So here it is my entry for the brief of a shady guy committing an act of violence but who and why remain a mystery...perhaps...

Week 1 - So it begins

Looking forward to doing this over the Summer, gonna be good guys! Ok, here's the brief:

The title for this one is - "So it begins."
It's a fairly loose brief, the two essential elements that should be in your image are:

1. Suggestion of a narrative
   
2. A key character
3. It must be epic!
