Here's the inked pages for this weeks topic. I would like to do some tone and colour on them but due to travelling tomorrow won't be able to before the deadline (I may post them up on my blog with some tone and colour later on though). So now that I've rambled here you go...

Week 5 - The Hunt - Kraven the Hunter

Hey Guys,

I've been working on this weeks topic a lot this week. I couldn't fit what I wanted to do on one page so I am working on a 3 Page Comic. I hope you guys like it, I'm pretty happy with it so far going to ink it soon.

Looks like the hunted has become the hunter!!!

So here is my entry this week with a doodle I found myself doing of Pac Man, becoming the hunter and chasing after those idiotic ghosts. The tables have turned my friend once more muwahahaha. Anyways quite pleased with the finish even if it is a quick doodle.

Week 5 - The Hunt

Week 5, yeah! This has been great so far, wicked job guys! So, this week I'm going to give a fairly specific brief.

The phrase 'The Hunt' is the brief for this week:

• Artwork has to be representative of the phrase 'The Hunt'
• There must be a sense of movement within the artwork
• The artwork can be a stand alone piece, a sequential piece, a poster, a cover etc.

I had to restart the colouring because it all went completely pants, oooh nooo! So unfortunately this is an unfinished cover, my apologies.

This is all done on my new Macie Mac. Also its the very first time I properly tried digital work.

Week 4 -Cover Re-Interpretations - Umbrella Academy

Here's my entry. I'm not really happy with it but It isn't terrible. I'm really having inking difficulties recently. My pencils are fine but when I try and ink it just looks worse. I guess it's just practice and perseverance.

Week 4 -Cover Re-Interpretations - Star Wars Omnibus: At War with The Empire progress

Hey guys! Looking forward to doing this weeks challenge. I got lazy so I'm going to try and pick up the pace again. Anyhew, my favourite book at the mo is The Time Travelers Wife...however I do not find the cover too exciting. I love the covers for the STAR WARS OMNIBUS series so I thought I'd do one of theme. Now I went through a load of theme and they're all very nice but I found that the most iconic and bold one was this one, Vader looking badass as per usual.

Here's what I've got going on so far. I'm trying not to go too far away from the original in terms of composition but I thought I'd change a few of the poses. I'm not keen on how the colours are turning out, lots of work needed. Hope you're all having a wicked weekend :)

This is the cover I will be reinterpreting. It is the most clever cover I have seen in recent knowledge.

Hope to do it justice.

And here is my finished piece, which I have to say is a disappointment, as I wanted to draw it bigger but was confined to an A4 size since that is the size of the scanner at home so I had to make do, and I feel where it a larger scale paper it would have made a difference. I felt so bad about it i decided not to colour it but maybe there are lessons to be learnt from this piece. Hope everyone else's is going good. Ciao Dave.

Week 4- Cover reinterpretations

So it's finally my week and I've got a cool task for everyone. Your task is to reinterpret your favourite book cover (look here for example of what I mean by reinterpret).

• It can be a novel, comic book, graphic novel or even children's book. 
• You must reinterpret the image not redesign the cover.
• You must post the original and the reinterpretation side by side.

Most importantly have fun with it. Can't wait to see what everyone does with this one.

Empire Strikes Back Poster comp

So here it is my comp rendition of the empire strikes back poster huzzah!

Week 2 - Film Poster Redesign- Pan's Labyrinth

Hey, here it is the completed redesign for Guillermo Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth poster. I did it in the same way as last week with grey markers and a photoshop colour overlay. Hope everyone likes it.

Week 2 Empire

So tomorrow I shall be doing my redesign version of Empire Strikes Back poster surprising huh? So that is my aim for this project looking good all round from what i have seen and everyone seems to be enjoying this brief so huzzah!

Week 2 - Film Poster Redesign- I,Robot

Hey all! This is my design so far! I'm posting this progress so far because I'm heading back to Plym Town tomorrow so I won't get to work on it over the next few days. It's still quite unfinished and needs a far bit of adjusting, any critique would be luuush!

Week 2 Film Poster

So my challenge to you all is this-To redesign a film poster of your favourite film, it can be as intricate or as minimalistic as you like, so go forth and make a poster.

The Swamp- Week 1- So it Begins

Here it is guys. The full coloured version of my illustration for So it begins...

I used grey markers to do the tones and did a quick colour layer on photoshop just to try the new technique after a few technical difficulties.

I tried to give it an old school pulp novel feel so I tried to give it a painty finish and used off colours. The text was just the finishing touch :)

Here is my drawing for the week. 
I've been wanting to draw a mermaid for a while now.
I wanted her pretty and slightly creepy at the same time.

I havent come up with an awesome title for this. But here it is =)

Week 1 - So it begins - Time to jump

Here's my submission, it changed so much, it looked nothing like the original idea. Anyhew, the initial idea was that there would be a paratrooper about to jump into a battlefield, this would fit the title 'So it begins'. But that didn't happen! I could have taken this further but quite frankly, I'm lazy!
