I realise no one else has done any posting here so far but I am going to keep up with it no matter what because I said I would. Today You can see a preview of my entry to the 'The Darkness II' Deviant Art contest. This is the second of 3 panels that I had to produce. I am really proud of this work. I Just posted the newest page for Unholywood over at my other blog. So Check it out. Not much to post so far been a bit busy catching up with friends and procrastinating which takes a lot out of you.

Week 13 - The Climax - Gladiator

So again I have faaaailed! I didn't get around to starting this one in time, my apologies guys. I was supposed to be illustrating a bit at the end of Gladiator where Maximus is walking through fields to his wife and son in the afterlife, he's finally re-united with his family.

Week 13 - The Climax - Iron Man

Being the huge Fanboy I am this was one of the most awesome climax to a movie ever. Seeing the character just come to life in a way that no character ever could because no other character was ever truly based on an actor so closely. Not only was the movie a  great fun ride having this at the end was truly the icing on the cake. So here is my interpretation of the moment you see his face.

Week 13 - The Climax

My challenge to you all this week is to draw the climax of your favourite film/TV series/video game/book. This can be accurate to the original or your own depiction.

Week 12 show and tell

Wow we sure are getting lazy. =P
Im joking, I know you all are working super hard at awesome things.

I've been at Pete's then I travelled home today, so sorry about the late post!

I did this last minute for a contest on DA. I really wish I had more time to fix it and do it again.
Oh well I hope you like.
I had to use stock images of a panda, lights and a pie.

Done in watercolour and chalk, all on pete's dinner table =)

Week 12 - Show and Tell - Adventures in Character Design

This summer I have been exploding with ideas. From creepy little monsters to Superhero action. None of these ideas have been fleshed out much yet but the thing I see as my problem is I need good character design. That is not really a problem because that is something I want to work on anyway because it's fun for me. At the start of summer I found a group on Deviant Art called 'Design A Character'. They do challenges revolving on designing a character. So this week I decided to get in some practice designing without killing my ideas (as I tried doing some designs and being unhappy with almost every line I put down). So I did the prop design challenge. The challenge was to design a prop then design a character that would use that prop, the challenge specified a chair.

I designed my chair.

From this design I then created a character who would use this chair.

The character design went a bit wonky when I drew it but I am happy with the amount of character I got into the design. Hope you like it.

Week 12- Show & Tell - SEEKER

Hey guys!

Dave and Ellen, I'm very sorry for not submitting for your challenges. Hope you're all well and enjoying your Summers. I've had a weird several weeks of not drawing much, laaaame!

This week I'm going to begin some work on a project I have an idea for that I may take on in a module this year, it's called 'Seeker'. I will tell more soonio.

Week 12 - Show and Tell

I thought I'd switch it up this week. Instead of the usual brief we have a different type of task. Show us all something you have been working on.

Week 10 - Messy Baker

Howdy!

My picture has to be the least pin-upy. lol
I wanted to start playing with expressions, not the best but still pleased with it =)
I thought I'd mix it up a little with a more cartoony look to it then my other drawings.
Gosh its super wonky! I didn't have my lovely photoshop to fix it. =(

Week 10 - Pin-Up

So here is my final for this week, didn't take too long and I am quite pleased with the outcome, and kept the whole one colour thing from the big sleep series I have been doing.

Week 10: 50's pin up

Hey guys, been quite busy with my own project these last two weeks, so sorry I haven't been on it those past weeks. Any who the challenge for this week is to draw a 50's pin up poster.

So the images tend to look like this, not explicit in anyway, but more suggestive, and always an idealized form of women, so get on down and create some eye candy.

Week 9 - The Relentless Hero

I also haven't finished my image but wanted to post something. It's still a long way off of completion. My intial idea seemed to slip away as I created this image, the hero was supposed to be stumbling along wounded on a battlefield but still continuing the fight until his last breath. I might give this one another shot some time. Take it easy guys =)

Week 9 - The Relentless Hero - Johnny Storm

Hey Guys,

I could only manage a sketch this week (I just did it in about 30 minutes) because of work and tiredness but I didn't want to leave you with nothing.

For this week I had trouble deciding on my idea. I had a couple but none really said relentless hero till I got my final idea to do my own drawing of the Death of Johnny Storm. It really shouts relentless hero to me charging to your death to protect the world and most importantly your family.

I really want to finish this one so definitely look for an update over at my blog next week.

Week 9 - The Relentless Hero

This week your challenge is to depict a relentless hero. This character must be within a situation that show's his/her strong willed nature and determination. For example:

• A wounded soldier determined to finish the fight even though the odds are totally against him.
• A character bent persistently attempting to save his friend from a ridiculously dangerous situation.
  

Hopefully this one doesn't sound too crazy, hope you guys have fun with it.
